Rev. Judith Taylor

We are excited to announce Rev. Judith Taylor has agreed to be our Interim Minister beginning Thursday, March 23! Her first Sunday will be Sunday, March 26!

A native of Chicago, Judith Lee Taylor followed her mother to Texas a few years after she retired to her maternal family’s “homeplace”. Both Judith and her mother had completed ministerial studies in Religious Science/Science of Mind (now Centers for Spiritual Living) and were delighted to find Tyler Unity Center for their new spiritual home. Her mother, Claudine Lee, and Judith were life members of the International New Thought Alliance (INTA), and Judith served several years on their executive board. In 2018, Judith was ordained by the Lola Pauline Mays New Thought School of Ministry.

While a member of this church, Judith served on the Board of Trustees, and was an occasional speaker, a role she’s enjoyed in other churches as well. She continues her ministry via her visual and performing arts career. She has performed with her husband Lamont in Tyler’s downtown on many occasions, under the name Serendipity Arts and Music.

When called to serve at Unity Church of Shreveport, Judith gave over 8 years to that community, working with interfaith organizations and building relationships with other nonprofits. Retiring in October of 2022, she returned to graduate school to pursue an MBA degree.

“I can think of no activity that would kindle the great joy I feel in my heart, other than to serve as interim minister of Tyler Unity Center”, Judith says. “I love the consciousness here and look forward to continuing our spiritual journey together.”

Her calm, loving demeanor provides healing and acceptance for all that encounter her.

We are grateful for her expertise and support during this time of healing and transition.

Her office hours will be Tuesdays and Thursdays 10am – 3pm.

She may be contacted at minister@tylerunitycenter.org or by calling 903-509-1177.
